Trogón Lodge

Trogon Lodge is set in the valley of San Gerardo de Dota. Located on an 83 acre farm where only 10% has been utilised for the Lodge’s construction. It is completely surrounded by untouched forest, green and blue hued mountains and a collage of multi-coloured flowers, and impressive oak trees.

The sound of Savegre River can be heard running through the property. The rustic, comfortable accommodation provides the opportunity for you to relax, and explore the hidden secrets of the cloudforest. The rooms, built from wood, are dotted about the gardens in clusters of two. They have views of the trout pond, the river or the gardens.

All are equipped with heaters to chase away any chills in the air, particularly at night. Meals are served in the restaurant, where menus have been designed to wholesome meals utilising home-grown vegetables, trout from the ponds and homemade bread and desserts made from local fruit and ingredients.

The bar is the great place to meet fellow travellers from around the world, enjoy a glass of wine while listening to the jukebox or try your luck at the pool table. The outdoor balcony with views of the Savegre River and trout ponds offers an added opportunity to relax. Did you know that the Savegre River has been declared as the cleanest river in Central America?
