A message from our founders about coronavirus

We’ve lived with the effects of Covid-19 for about 3 months now, and it has meant a staggering change to all of our lives. We hope that you have kept well during this time.
At Costa Rica Specialists we are working with a small team of usually 4 staff on a rota system in order to service our clients. We’re delighted to say that most people are deciding to defer their holiday rather than cancelling – this is hugely appreciated by us all. Not only does it help our company but also the many people we work with in the destinations. Thank you.
We are getting a few new enquiries for future travel now too, so things are slowly changing and some people are becoming more positive about the future of travel.
This is still not going to be a quick change back to ‘normal’, and nor should it be, as we have a chance to change some things for the better because of this extreme situation. Perhaps we will all now consider our travels more carefully, and the environment could hugely benefit from this.
Costa Rica Specialists will be here and ready for you when you are ready to look at travelling again. We hope it’s not too long 😊

WHERE ARE WE?
The Costa Rica Specialists team is working on a rota system (from home). You can still get hold of us on the usual numbers and emails.
TEMPORARY OPENING TIMES
Since 1st April 2020 our opening times have been Monday to Friday from 9am to 4pm. Please leave a message if we don’t reply, or call us the following day (note: we close on weekends). We are contactable by email too. Our general email is firstname.lastname@example.org. This is checked every work day.
IF YOU HAVE A HOLIDAY BOOKED WITH US
We are working through our list of travellers. As it gets to a point where we can realistically try to deal with your holiday arrangements, we will be in touch. You are, of course, very welcome to contact us if you want to discuss anything with us before we get in touch with you.
We very much hope that if your current plans are no longer possible due to the pandemic you will consider postponing your trip to a future date. The willingness of our travellers to take this stance will make ALL the difference to our company (and staff) and to the many people providing your holiday in country. So, this is a heartfelt request to please postpone if you’re able.
To be clear, Costa Rica Specialists will weather this storm. We are a financially strong and very well-run company. However, you have the ultimate protection that, if we were to go out of business, your booking with us will be covered financially by either our ATOL licence or ABTOT insurance. You will not lose out if we fail (which we won’t!).
BOOK A NEW HOLIDAY WITH CONFIDENCE
Our wish is to arrange a holiday for you that not only gives you something to look forward to, but which also causes you no stress in terms of concern over losing either your holiday or your money. We will give as much advice as we can at every point. And remember, if we become insolvent (which we have no intention of becoming) you will get your money back via the ATOL or ABTOT schemes.
We are offering low deposits for new bookings, and creating final balance payments which are as close to your departure date as we’re able to.
